Randfontein High School offers Dramatic Arts, Dance Studies, Music and Design as subjects up to Grade 12, making us the only fully fledged performing arts school in the district. Currently, we have more than 300 learners taking one or more of these subjects. Since these subjects are highly specialised, consisting of intensive practical components our Grade 8 and 9 learners also follow this strategy in place of traditional Arts and Culture.

We are committed to providing quality extra-mural activities which, together with academic excellence, equip our learners with the confidence and pride to leave a legacy as a world citizen. We are particularly proud of our trendsetting and ground-breaking programme with regard to cultural activities at the school and have seen a number of of learners participate on both national and international platforms. Traditionally, schools shy away from offering any extra-mural activities to learners. Close to half of our learners currently participate in these activities. Over the years, we have seen that learners who participate in extra-mural activities often feature as our top academic achievers. We, therefore, are determined to offer our learners the best possible opportunity to excel in their chosen activity or activities. This means that we ensure coaching on the highest level, investing in the professional development of our educators and mentors as well as endeavouring to provide first class facilities that allow our learners to work and practise in an environment that is both inspiring and stimulating.
