4 Teams are registered with SACEE and the two senior teams broke into the SACEE championships

South African Agency for Science and Technology Advancement debating league. The team qualified for the provincial rounds on 28 May 2016.

The school annually participates in this interesting competition.
In 2016 they represented Peru in the annual debate.

SCAR PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION
A joint venture between the Department of Education and the Gauteng Library Services. Lurhan Maraba, Tshepo Mofokeng and Obakeng Seageng won the District and Regional rounds.
HEART OF EUROPE INTERNATIONAL DEBATING TOURNAMENT.
Debating learners of Randfontein High School had the opportunity to participate in this tournament from 13 to 18 July 2016 in Prague, Czech Republic.
ROAD SAFETY DEBATE
Tshepo Mofokeng, Obakeng Seageng, Ramasela Mashatola and Agisang Sibanda were invited to KHAYAfm to debate road safety issues on 23 and 24 March 2016.

Jesse Daniels, Nkanyezi Sikhakane and Lurhan Maraba participated in the GIBS leadership camp from 24 to 26 June 2016.
Rand West City Local Municipality Libraries Debate
Annual Inter-School debate to celebrate International Literacy Day, Lurhan Maraba represented RHS and came first by impressing adjudicators with his high standard of public speaking, level of research and interpretation of the topic.
Grade 11 drama class as well as individual actors performed at the GDE District Awards event on 22 April 2016.
KykNET Nasionale Toneelspel Kompetisie
Cantona James and Stacey-Ann Phillips qualified for the elimination rounds of this national competition at Artscape Theatre in Cape Town in May 2016. This year’s entries tallied 500 candidates from schools around the country.
Cantona and Stacey-Ann were among the 80 candidates who were selected to proceed to the four elimination rounds, which took place in Cape Town from 19th to 21st May, 2016.
Stacey-Ann Phillips was selected to participate in the RSG series of “Ratels” and, if the radio station finds her a suitable candidate, she will be signed on for more recordings. The first recordings will be made in Auckland Park at the RSG studios.In reward for stellar performances and his incredibly hard work, Cantona James won the kykNET Nasionale Toneelspel Kompetisie. He was awarded a cash prize; won a full scholarship to study Dramatic Arts at Stellenbosch University; has been selected to perform in a play that will be written explicitly for four candidates to perform at Woordfees. He is also being considered as a candidate for a role in “Binnelanders
“Die Einde” performed at KKNK during April 2016 after performing at the finals of ATKV Tienertoneel.
